Martha Eudale Walter

Martha Eudala (Felmey) Walter, 94, of 790 Strawbridge Road, Northumberland, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born May 5, 1922, in Dry Valley, a daughter of the late Estella Dora Hendricks and Palmer Peter Felmey. On July 10, 1942, in Muncy, she married Clarence Edward Walter who preceded her in death in April of 2002, breaking a marital union of 60 years.
Martha was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Over the years she worked at Wilson Manufacturing, Champ Hats, and at the Sunbury Community Hospital.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Northumberland.
Martha enjoyed playing cards, bowling, fishing, puzzles, reading, gardening, and planting flowers.
Martha is survived by six children, Ruth Ann and Terry Yordy, of Northumberland, Alan Walter and his companion Charlene Kunkle, of Sunbury, Karen and Craig Treacher, of Selinsgrove, Teresa and Lee Miller, of Sunbury, Deborah and James R. Williams, of Northumberland, and Colin and Leslie Walter, of Shamokin Dam; six grandchildren, Tim and Carol Yordy, of Selinsgrove, Kimberlee Neitz, of Harrisburg, Robert III and Dana Neitz, of Alamo, Calif., James C. and Danielle Williams, of Northumberland, Hallie and Ben Wombacher, of Collegeville, Joey Lynn Walter, of Beverly, W. Australia; six stepgrandchildren, Mary and David Menges, of Shamokin Dam, Lee Miller Jr., of Stroudsburg, Robert and Chad Miller, both of Northumberland, Shannel Rhodes, of Kreamer, and Craig Treacher Jr., of Selinsgrove; five great-grandchildren, Nicole Yordy, of New York City, Sophia and Zachary Neitz, of Alamo, Calif., and Ryan and Alyssa Williams, of Northumberland; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Derek Menges, of Shamokin Dam, Joseph Miller, of Sunbury, and Sadie Mae Miller, of Shamokin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Martha was the last of 17 children, two sets of twins, a twin herself. She was preceded in death by nine brothers, Earl, Carbon, Oscar, Albert, John, Ted, Gene, Marlin, and Joseph; seven sisters, Leona, Laura, Irene, Jessie, Elizabeth, Madeleine and Ethel; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may visit from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, 300 Queen St., Northumberland, followed by a memorial service at 4, with the Rev. Pat Pittsnogle officiating.
Burial will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
