Marlin A. Kratzer, 81, of Oriental Road, Liverpool, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 6, 2017, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born Oct. 21, 1935, in "Happy Hollow" Liverpool, a son of the late George and Bertha (Hile) Kratzer. On Dec. 22, 1956, he married the former Leona M. Ferry who survives.
Marlin had been employed by several highway construction firms including H.J. Williams where he worked for 18 years.
In his younger years, Marlin enjoyed hunting and playing baseball for the Oriental team. He enjoyed caring for his lawn and his favorite pastimes in his later years were watching baseball and football on TV.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Deb Kratzer, of Mount Pleasant Mills; one daughter, Barbara Kratzer, of Richfield; two grandchildren, Adam and Stephanie Kratzer; three great-grandchildren, Alayna, Jenna, and Maddie; and one aunt, Wilma Speicher, of Mount Pleasant Mills.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Hupp; two brothers, Clayton and Bob Kratzer; and one brother and sister at birth.
At Marlin's request, there will be no viewing. Friends and family are invited to attend graveside services at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Daniel's Church Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills, with Pastor Curtis Kantz officiating.
