Marie Lyle Landers, 92, of RiverWoods, Lewisburg, formerly of Bloomsburg, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 20126, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
A native of Womelsdorf, she was born Nov. 8, 1923, a daughter of the late David M. and Olivia (Krumbine) Heffelfinger. She was married to Clinton D. Lyle for 35 years until his death and then to David G. Landers for 19 years until his death.
Marie was a 1941 graduate of the Womelsdorf High School.
She retired in 1988 as a travel consultant for Valley Automobile Club after 22 years of service.
She had been a member of First United Methodist Church of Bloomsburg and while in Lewisburg was a member of St Paul's United Methodist Church. She was active in civic groups in Bloomsburg from 1941-2003.
Marie was also an accomplished photographer although she insisted she was an amateur (most people would disagree).
She is survived by one daughter, Lynda Lyle, of Knoxville, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Caitlin O'Connell, of Knoxville; one niece, Barbara Budd, of Lewisburg; two nephews, Robert Lyle, of Weehawken, N.J., and Richard Budd, of Lewisburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Richard Budd, of Lewisburg; three stepsons and their wives, Phillip and Gail Landers, of Williamsport, Eric and Marrolyn Lancers, of Forksville, and Bernard and Patricia Landers, of Bloomsburg; and a friend, Leonardo Vervuurt, of New York City.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
