Margaret E. "Peg" Gilbert, 91, of Sunbury, formerly of Middleburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017, at Manor Care, Sunbury.
She was born April 2, 1926, in Troxelville, a daughter of the late Herbert and Mary (Swartz) Musser. On Feb. 2, 1945, she married Charles A. Gilbert Jr. who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1999.
Peg had been employed at the Selinsgrove Center for more than 30 years.
She was a member of Hummels United Methodist Church, Middleburg, where she had served as president of the Ladies Aid and for many years helped organize funeral luncheons.
Peg was a talented seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy D. and Charles Seward, of Beavertown, Mary "Patsy" and Roger Keister, of Middleburg, and Jeanette J. and Paul Herman, of Nevada; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mildred Napp; and three brothers, Nelson, Victor, and Marsden Musser.
Friends and family will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 10, with the Rev. Carvel K. May officiating.
Burial will be in the Troxelville Union Cemetery.
