Lorraine M. McAnnaney, 81, of 201 W. Mulberry St., Shamokin, passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at her residence after a lengthy illness, with her family by her side.
She was born in Shamokin on May 31, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Anderson) Dangle.
She attended the former St. Mary's Grade School and Coal Township High School.
On Feb. 8, 1958, in the former St. Mary's Church, Shamokin, she married Wayne A. McAnnaney. Her husband preceded her in death on July 12, 2000.
Lorraine had been employed at the former Arrow Shirt Factory and Lark Dress Factory. She also worked as a housekeeper at the former St. Mary's Rectory, and was a cafeteria worker at the former St. Stanislaus School. She also worked as a cook at the former St. Stephen's Rectory, and most recently was a cook at Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church Rectory in Shamokin.
Lorraine had a very strong faith in God, and was a member of the former St. Mary's Church, now Mother Cabrini Parish in Shamokin.
She very much enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and playing bingo. She also enjoyed traveling to the New England states with her husband, and going to the casinos. Most importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Survivors include four children, David McAnnaney and his wife Marisa, of Elysburg, Lori Ann Drumheller and her husband Scott, of Hampstead, Md., Collette Matukaitis and her husband Michael, of Elysburg, and Renee McAnnaney and her husband Richard Pawlicki, of Coal Township; five grandchildren, Kyle McAnnaney, Ian Drumheller and his wife Casey, Erin Drumheller, and Mauri and Ryan Matukaitis; and two great-granddaughters, Aurora and Aria Drumheller.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Matukaitis; and a brother, Edward Dangle.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Coal Township.

The Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin, is assisting the family with arrangements.
