Lewis D. "Louie" Kerstetter

Lewis D. "Louie" Kerstetter, 74, of East Market Street, Middleburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 2017, at the Williamsport Hospital.
He was born March 4, 1942, in Liverpool, a son of the late Earl T.R. and Mary Ellen (Williamson) Kerstetter. On Sept. 29, 1962, he married the former Sharon L. Glover who survives.
Louie attended Greenwood High School.
He had been employed by Kinney Shoe Corp., Beaver Springs and then for 11 years he was a heavy equipment operator with Local 542 Operating Engineers. He then joined the staff at Kreamer Bible Baptist Church in maintenance a position he held for the next 43 years.
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Kreamer where he served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. He was a life member of the Kreamer Sportsmen Club and the National Rifle Association.
Louie was an avid hunter. He enjoyed reloading ammo, shooting, and camping with his family. His family, especially his grandchildren were the greatest joy in his life. Louie will be remembered as a fearless Christian who witnessed the love of Christ to all he came in contact with.
In addition to his wife of 54 years, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. Troy D. and Maria Kerstetter, of Blanchard, and Brian L. and Nanette Kerstetter, of Middleburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon L. and Lou Sycz, of Lock Haven; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Shaffer, Chad Kerstetter, Renee Grafmyer, Chance Brown, Teari Beverly, Nicole Kerstetter, Keria Sycz, Ashley Kerstetter, Mia and Alex Sycz; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, his twin, Elsie Wetzel, of Newport, and Phyllis Singley, of Mifflintown; two brothers, Dennis Kerstetter, of Millerstown, and Gary Kerstetter, of Middleburg; and his mother-in-law, Betty Walborn, of Freeburg.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Earl "Sonny" Kerstetter; and two siblings in infancy, Russell and Barbara Kerstetter.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kreamer Bible Baptist Church and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, followed by the funeral at 11 with his son, the Rev. Troy D. Kerstetter and his pastor, the Rev. Thomas W. Krampert officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
