Lawrence L. "Larry", "Lee", "Butch" Phillips, 63, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, in the emergency room at the Sunbury Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Northumberland County, a son of the late Mabel Geraldine Phillips. He was the husband of Phyllis M. (Delawder) Phillips, who survives. His passing breaks a marital union of 30 years.
Larry was employed as a truck driver, farmer, and auto mechanic, and was also a licensed Pyrotechnical, for Fireworks Productions, Inc.
He was a NASCAR fan, watching racing, and fireworks.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by his children, Donna L Phillips and her husband David W. Fields, of Elkton, Md., Lawrence S. Phillips and his companion Chasity Rose Smith, of Chambersburg, Michael T. Delawder, of Sunbury, Melvin T. "Tom" Petty and his companion, Kim Gaugler, of Penns Creek, and Robert W. Petty Sr. and his wife Cylinda, of Penns Creek; 16 grandchildren, Tyler, Mariah, Abriana, Elizabeth, Jayden, Michael, Jr., Mariana, Marshall, Elektra, Lindsey, Dakota, Tyler, Robert, Jr., Damian, Selina, and Bailey.
Larry was preceded in death by his uncles, Lawrence E. Phillips, who was killed in action on Oct. 4, 1944, during World War II, Eugene Phillips, John Phillips, and Carl Phillips; and a cousin, Jack Phillips.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 2, with Pastor Jesse Bingaman officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran and Reformed Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.
