Kenneth Eugene Bachman, 64, of Kreamer, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 28, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a battle with cancer.
He was born Oct. 13, 1952, in Lewisburg, a son of Janet (Mattern) Bachman, of Middleburg, and the late Clair Bachman. On Feb. 26, 1977, he married the former Karen Engle who survives.
Ken was a member of the class of 1971 of Middleburg High School.
He had been employed for 24 years at Dorsey Trailers, Northumberland, later at Kerrico, Selinsgrove, and retired due to illness after 19 years from Wode Mode, Kreamer.
He was a life member of the NRA, a member of Ducks Unlimited, the Kreamer Volunteer Fire Company, and a former member of the Kreamer Sportsmen Club.
Ken enjoyed being on the cleaning crew of the Selinsgrove Race Track. He was an avid hunter, especially of geese, ducks and deer. He was proud of serving as a mentor to Kristin Eriksson in hunting. Ken will be remembered for his love of ice cream and Mountain Dew.
In addition to his mother and his wife of 40 years, he is survived by two sons, Brent Bachman and his friend Carolyn Wright, of McClure, and Brady Bachman and wife Kristi, of Selinsgrove; one daughter, Kristy Kratzer and husband Cole, of McClure; two grandchildren whom he adored, Austin and Emersyn Bachman; McKayla, Braydyn, Chloe, Ashton and Graclynn whom he considered his grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, James and Joyce Bachman, of Middleburg, John and Debbie Bachman, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Terry Bachman, of Middleburg;
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 6, with the Rev. Nathan Baker Trinity, officiating.
Burial will be in Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
