Karen A. Walters, 60, of 420 N. Ninth St., Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the home of her son in Coal Township.
She was born Nov. 17, 1956, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Fern and Leah (Ruch) Yeager. On Nov. 7, 1992, in Sunbury, she married James Walters who survives.
Karen was a graduate of Shikellamy High School.
She was employed as an aide at Suncom Industries where she was involved with everything from office work to training and helping the other employees.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Church, Sunbury.
Karen enjoyed camping and fishing. She loved her cats and spending time with her family. Karen was a selfless person who always put others before herself.
In addition to her husband of 24 years, she is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tara Reeder, of Copperas Cove, Texas, and Kyle and Ronda Reeder, of Coal Township; six grandchildren, Trey and Jarin Jasso, and Madison, Hailey, Kylee and Austin Reeder; one brother, Dean Yeager; and one niece and nephew, Janel and Jason Yeager.
There will be no viewing or hours of calling. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
The Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
