John C. Boyer 88, of Camp Hill, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Holy Spirit Hospital. Born July 22, 1928, in Mifflinburg, to the late Frank P. and Sarah (Edmunds) Boyer.
John was a graduate of the Mifflinburg High School and attended College of William and Mary. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War.
John retired as a budget analyst at the Mechanicsburg Naval Depot. He was member of the American Legion Post 143 New Cumberland, Lower Allen VFW Post 7530 and a charter member of the Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg. John was an avid walker and tennis player.
John is survived by his loving wife, Gladys (Snyder) Boyer; two children, Karen L. Small (Murray) of Mechanicsburg and Jeffrey A. Boyer (JoLynn) of Grantville; two brothers, Winston Boyer of Mifflinburg and Vincent Boyer of McAlisterville; three grandchildren, Tyler and Travis Baney and Shaina Boyer; one great-grandchild, Jayden Meade. He was preceded in death by his three siblings, Eugenia Benson, David Boyer and Spencer Boyer. Memorial services will take place privately. Burial will take place at Rolling Green Cemetery.
