Johanna Frances (Rimback) Tharp, 77, of Millmont, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
She was born March 20, 1940, in Baltimore, Md., a daughter of the late Frank J. Rimback and birth mother, Theresa (Mrozinski) Rimback.
On April 12, 1958, she married Harry Homer Tharp who preceded her in death on January 31, 2000.
Johanna was a 1957 graduate of Patterson High School, Baltimore.
She worked in the drapery department at Boscov's from 1978 to 2007.
She attended St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church, Baltimore, St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove, and Lincoln Chapel UMC, Laurelton.
Johanna enjoyed crafting, sewing, crocheting, being Mrs. Claus, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, vacations on the Chesapeake Bay, and spending time with her family, friends, and beloved dog, Sir Oliver Weatherby.
Johanna is survived by her children, Diana Rine and husband Greg, of Freeburg, Marcella Long and husband Rodney, of Hartleton, and Christopher Tharp and wife Jayne, of Selinsgrove; two granddaughters, Ashley Rine, of Boston, Mass., and Caitlin Rine, of Freeburg; siblings, Joseph Rimback and wife Joyce, of Baltimore, Darleen Hirn and husband John, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Katherine Wellman and James, of Baltimore; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Gayo Rimback, and her brother, Frank J. Rimback Jr.
Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 1, with Pastor Mike Wilson Officiating.
Burial will be in Shreiners Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
