Joel H. Stuck, 80, of Middleburg, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 24, 1936, in Lewistown, a son of the late John Henry and Verda M. (Spade) Stuck. He was married to the former Shirley A. Nipple who preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2016. The couple were married for 55 years at the time of her passing.
Joel retired from Lyon Fashions Inc., McAlisterville and a member of the National Guard.
He was a member of Brookside Ministries, and was supportive of his wife with her prior church ministries and One in the Spirit singing group.
Joel enjoyed old engine and tractor shows and watching racing.
He is survived by three children, Debra Zook and her friend Bill Seymore, Rodney Gearhart, and Barbie-Jo Stuck; four grandchildren, Bradley Zook, Zachary Zook, Kerri Ann Barnett, and Uriah Gearhart; seven great-grandchildren, Chloe, Coen, Avery, Lucas, Sylas, Colbi, and Oliver; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Eugene Stuck; one sister, Ruth Earnest; and one nephew, Emory Earnest, Jr.
Honoring Joel's wishes the casket will be closed. Friends and family are invited to the visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, followed by the funeral at 10, with Pastor Jerry R. Helman officiating.
Burial will be in Maze Cemetery, Thompsontown.
