Joan C. Rothermel, 85, of Danville, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Dec. 24, 1930, in Danville, a daughter of the late Floyd and Elizabeth (Boone) Hulsizer.
A consummate family woman, Joan lovingly cared for her late husband and children, loved bowling and spending time with her family and in earlier years, enjoyed playing "Cinch".
In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of more than 30 years, Harold Rothermel, as well as a sister, Janet Leitzel.
She is survived by two sons, Ken Conrad, of Danville and David Reitz III, of Selingsgove; one daughter, Deanna Sheldon and her husband, David, of New Columbia; stepdaughter, Toni Allen, of Sunbury; grandchildren, Joanie, Justyn and Breanna; great-grandchildren, Haley, Austyn, Dillyn, Mason, Harley, Olivia, and Bella; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Darlis Starr and Barb and Thomas Harris, all of Danville, Madeline and Jim Lewis, of Sunbury, and Marion and Gary Cox, of Elysburg; and nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church St., Danville, followed by the funeral at 11, with the Rev. Edmund Minnich, officiating a celebration of her life.
