Jennifer T. Quinn-White
Mar 29, 1947 - Jun 24, 2016
It is with profound sorrow that the family of Jennifer Theresa Quinn-White shares her passing. She died on June 24, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center at the age of 69, following a brief critical illness. She will be forever cherished by her loving daughters, Kathryn (Sharpe) Wessling, Kerry (Sharpe) Lavigne, and devoted son, Jonathan Sharpe.
Jennifer was born March 29, 1947, a native of Birmingham, Ala., a daughter of the late Michael Joseph White Jr. and Mary Jane Jones.
A student at John Carroll High School and graduate of Shades Valley High School in Birmingham, Ala., Jennifer went on to study psychology at Auburn University. She received her Masters degree in social work from University of South Alabama.
She was a devoted mother who made immense sacrifices for the benefit of her children. She relocated to central Pennsylvania and ultimately Mifflinburg to be close to her daughter while a resident at Geisinger Medical Center. Mifflinburg and the surrounding area quickly became her adopted home, treasured for its simple beauty.
She made many wonderful friends in the area, particularly Mary Jane Stackowski, M.D., and Rick Schlegel, who was helping to restore the Victorian home that she cherished.
She is survived by two brothers, Patrick Edward White and David Edwin White; three children and their spouses, Frank Wessling, Richard Lavigne, and Tara (Stohler) Sharpe; and six beloved grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the John Shaw III Funeral Home on Market & 8th St. in Lewisburg, PA.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Msgr. William M. Richardson as celebrant at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed immediately by internment in the Mifflinburg cemetery.
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for the superior skill and medical care of the emergency department at Evangelical Hospital as well as the neurosurgery and critical care staff at Geisinger Medical Center.
Donations may be made in Jennifer's memory to Emmanuel Nursing Center at Maria Joseph, 600 Schoolhouse Rd., Danville, PA 17821.
