Jeanne Lenora Wysocki, 87, of Danville, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2017, at the Gardens at Orangeville.
She was born July 10, 1930, in Mount Carmel, a daughter of the late John L. and Amelia (Brown) Geist. On June 16, 1951, she married Francis Joseph Wysocki who preceded her in death.
Jeanne graduated from Danville High School, Class of 1948 and also received her associate's degree in Licensed Practical Nursing.
She was a loving and involved mother who also worked worked as an LPN on the Psychiatric Unit of Geisinger Medical Center.
She was a member of the DAR, and Reach to Recovery with the American Cancer Society, served as a Boy Scout Den Mother, and volunteered with many school activities. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Church in Danville.
Jeanne was also very proud of her children and grandchildren which included numerous family members that served in the Armed Forces. Jean skillfully crocheted afghan blankets for all of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the beauty of flowers, singing, listening to music, reading, playing, teaching, and talking with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Francis and wife Jeri Wysocki, Lenora Wysocki Broda, Christopher and wife Donna Wysocki, Cynthia Wysocki Womer and husband Carl, Annette Wysocki Owens and husband Terry, David Wysocki, Paul and wife Pamela Wysocki; 15 grandchildren, Frankie, Alexander, William, Eric, Danica, Megan, Erin, Stacy, Karl, Elizabeth, Meredith, Amilia, Aaron, Jeanne, and Nathan; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Amelia; and her siblings, Franklin Geist, Chloe Geist Becker, Lloyd Geist, and Anna Geist Kirkendal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 18 E. Center St., Danville, with pastor, Parochial Vicar Rev. Ignatius Madumere, OP as celebrant. Friends may visit from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Hubert's Chapel (located in the annex of the church) prior to Mass.
Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
