Jean DiCeglie, 95, of Sunbury passed away Oct. 5, 2017, at her home.
She was born in Brooklyn, New York on Feb. 9, 1922, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Randello. She married Lou DiCeglie on Oct. 9, 1945, sharing a remarkable 72 years together.
Jean was one of the original owners of the Sunbury Sub Shop, located in downtown Sunbury, as many would remember her. She enjoyed time spent when all of her family was together.
Jean is survived by her husband, Lou DiCeglie; sister Madeline of New Jersey; sister-in-laws, Minnie Randello and Carol Randello; daughters, Maria Lieb and Luann DiCeglie; five grandchildren, Ann Marie Renard and husband, Marcus Renard, Lou Scheller, Marty Downs, Jenna Cunningham and Jonathan Malsch; four great-grandchildren, Michael Renard, Erica Renard, Jared Weaver and Leila Scheller.
Jean was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth "Betty Ann" Downs; and five brothers, John, Joe, Tony, Frank and Al.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at St. Monica's Church, Market Street, Sunbury, where funeral services and Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Following will be a graveside service in Orchard Hills Cemetery and Memorial Park.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
