Irene's Story

Irene L. Fetter, 91, of Stayman Apartments, Shamokin Dam, passed away on Friday afternoon, July 14, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 23, 1926, in Penn Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Edward and Verdilla (Ramer) Jarrett. She was married to Marlin G. Fetter who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 2008.
Irene attended the Hill End School in rural Snyder County and was very proud of earning her GED later in life.
She had been employed for many years at Beavertown Knitting.
She was a member of Zion's Church of Kratzerville, the New Berlin American Legion ladies auxiliary, and was active in the Selinsgrove Senior Center and the activities at the Stayman Apartments.
Irene enjoyed bingo, watching the Price is Right on TV which she was able to see a show in person, and later in life traveling, especially going on cruises.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Diane K. and Dwayne Daddario, of New Berlin; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Richard L. Fetter, of Port Trevorton, and Dennis M. and Kathy Fetter, of Selinsgrove; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey and Holly Daddario, Jonathan and Casey Daddario, Christopher and Ashley Fetter, and Jennifer Fetter; one great-granddaughter, Lucy; and one brother, Grant Jarrett, of Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Herman, Warren, Marlin, Wilmer, and George Jarrett; and five sisters, Carrie Mull, Edna Shaffer, Iva McElroy, Lena and Florence Jarrett.
At Irene's request, there will be no viewing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion's Church of Kratzerville, with the Rev. Kevin Rathmell officiating.
Burial will be in Zion Reformed Cemetery, Kratzerville.
