Ida Pauline Snyder, 105, of Richfield, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday morning, April 4, 2017, at the Richfield Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 19, 1912, in Richfield, a daughter of the late William and Hulda (Ehrenzeller) Womer. She was married to Donald B. "Boonie" Snyder, who preceded her on Sept. 13, 1999.
Pauline was a 1929 graduate of Sunbury High School and a 1931graduate of Bloomsburg Normal School.
She began her teaching career at Stahl's school and later was a substitute teacher for one-room schools in Juniata and Snyder counties. Pauline also did regular substituting at Fayette, Susquehanna, Thompsontown, and Monroe schools. In 1966, she returned to full time teaching at Monroe Elementary School, Richfield until her retirement in 1975.
Pauline was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Richfield where she was a member of the WELCA group and Sunday school. Pauline was a charter member of the Richfield Womens Club and attended the Breakfast Club. She was also a member of the Lafayette Chapter No. 222, Selinsgrove Order of Eastern Star.
Pauline was known for her cooking and baking. She also enjoyed traveling and camping with her husband and family. Pauline especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, George D. and Rose M. Snyder and Edward E. and Susan C. Snyder, all of Richfield; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Snyder, of Richfield; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Brent Snyder, twins Craig and Mistie Snyder and Curt Snyder, Renee and Gary Elsasser, Georgiana and Troy Leitzel, Tracy and Dale Maneval, Shari and Jeremy Sheaffer, Scott and Wendy Snyder, and Jill and Brent Musser; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger A. Snyder; one brother, George Womer; and one sister, Phyllis Womer.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, followed by a service of Christian Burial at 2, at St. John Lutheran Church, Church Street, Richfield, with the Rev. Lisa Barnes officiating.
Burial will be in Richfield Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in loving memory of Pauline to Tiger Treats, a food-pack program that benefits students in local schools, to Troy Leitzel, Treasurer, P.O. Box 114, Richfield, PA 17086.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35 Mount Pleasant Mills have been entrusted with the arrangements.
