Howard Henry "Bud" Houtz, 81, of Penns Creek, entered into rest on Friday morning, June 3, 2016, at his home.
He was born Jan. 12, 1935, in Reedsville, a son of the late John Houtz and Helen (Hassinger) Houtz-Drumheller. He was married to the former Thelma I. Peters who survives. His passing breaks a marital union of 62 years.
Howard was a graduate of Middleburg High School and was a veteran of the Army.
He retired from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He worked at the Selinsgrove Center and the Laurelton Center.
Howard enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his wife, He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Deb Houtz, of Harrisburg; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lisha and Dan Feaster, of Penns Creek, and Brenda Houtz, of Pittsburgh; three granddaughters and their husbands, Sara and Mark McLawhorn, Mallory and Mike Walter, and Randi and Ben Cafferilli; one brother, Paul Houtz, of Mifflinburg; and three stepsisters, Arla Hein, Erma Dock, and Hazel Garey.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Moyer and Betty Fisher, and one brother, Clarence Houtz.
There will be no viewing. A private graveside service will be held at the discretion of the family.
The George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills is assisting the family with the arrangements.
