Herbert M. Oberlin, 78, of Center Street, Beavertown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, May 9, 2017.
He was born in Bannerville, a son of Iva (Erb) Oberlin, of McClure, and the late Stoy Oberlin. On June 23, 1962, he married the former Patsy L. Goss who preceded him in death in 2009.
Herb attended West Snyder High School.
He was employed as an aide for 33 years at the Selinsgrove Center until his retirement. He then worked for Super Service Garage in Beavertown delivering parts.
He was a member of the Beavertown Fire Company.
Herb was an avid car enthusiast and enjoyed going camping and spending time with his family, especially his grand and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory A. and Julie Oberlin and Troy L. and Jennifer Oberlin; three grandchildren, Tehoni Oberlin, Lindsay Oberlin and Nicholas Oberlin; five great-grandchildren, Brysen, Kali, Waylon, Peyten and Whitney; and one sister, Pauline Barner, of Beavertown.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Kathy Mercado officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
