Herbert L. Faux, 88, a lifelong resident of Danville, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017, at the Emmanuel Center in Danville.
He was born on Nov. 23, 1928. at the family home on Sidler Hill, a son of the late Clifton J. and Catherine (Snyder) Faux.
Herbert was in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the LST 980 from 1946 to 1949. After discharge from the Navy, he worked for KVS, TRW, and ultimately retired in 1995 from Merck, as a chemical operator, after more than 30 years of service. Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed traveling, and loved tinkering at odd jobs around the house. He was also a lifetime member of the Danville Moose Lodge 1133.
He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Hoover and husband Gary, of Florissant, Mo.; one grandson, Christopher and wife Angela of Arnold, Mo.; as well as a step great-granddaughter, Brooklyn.
Herbert was preceded in death by his wife of more than 56 years, Betty; one son, Larry; one brother, Gerald; and one sister, Dorothy Doran.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at the Brady Funeral Home, 320 Church Street, Danville, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Greg Molter officiating.
Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
