Helen I. Romig, 93, formerly of North Main Street, Middleburg, passed away on Thursday morning, Aug. 17, 2017, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont where she had lived for the past six years.
She was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Harry F. and Erma L. (Snyder) Reigle.
Helen was a graduate of Middleburg High School.
She had been employed at the Middleburg Silk Mill, McCoy Lumber, Bendix Corp., Boise Cascade, Poloron, and retired from Thor Industries, all of Middleburg.
Helen loved to travel, especially to Long Beach Island, N.J., and to Florida. One of Helen's favorite pastimes was reading.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, William C. and Michelle Romig, of Mifflinburg; one son-in-law, James Dippery, of Middleburg; seven grandchildren, Cristina Barnes, Adrienne Beaver, Jennifer Dippery, Shannon and husband Mick Hackenberg, Zach Romig, Adam and wife Karley Romig, and Noah Romig; and six great-grandchildren, Jack and Joey Barnes, Connor and Eliot Beaver, and Ian and Gillian Hackenberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Romig; and her long time companion, William Troupe; two daughters, Melody Romig and Sharon Dippery; and one brother, Joseph Reigle Sr.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. William D. Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
