Harold J. "Red" Reitz, 88, of Stage Road, McClure, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
He was born May 1, 1928, in McClure, a son of the late Freeman and Stella (Boonie) Reitz. He was married to Florence B. (Ferguson) Renninger-Reitz who survives.
Harold attended school in McClure.
After school he was employed for 38 years at the Viscose in Lewistown and then for 11 years at Wood-Mode in Kreamer.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McClure.
Harold was an avid motorcycle rider and was a charter member of the Midnite Riders Motorcycle Club in Lewistown in the 50's. He also owned the motorcycle shop in McClure where he sold BMW and BSA cycles.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters and sons-in-law, Stella and Dale Wagner, of Beaver Springs and Lisa and Chad McGrew, of Kansas City, Mo.; grandchildren, Terri Coleman, Dale Wagner Jr., Vicki Yohn, Bobby, Nate and Travis Morcha, and Andrea Ricklefs; nine great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Faye and Richard Plummer, of McClure, Walt and Diane Renninger, of McClure and Dave and Lori Renninger, of Vermont; 14 stepgrandchildren; and 17 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty (Himes) Reitz in 1996; one stepgrandson, Jerry Plummer; and one brother in infancy, Freeman Reitz Jr.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, McClure, followed by the funeral at 2, with the Rev. Lisa Schuster officiating.
Burial will follow in the McClure Union Cemetery.
