Grace E. McCollin, 95, of Watsontown, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Watsontown Health and Rehab, where she had been residing for the past 11 months.
She was born Aug. 5, 1920, in Delaware Township, a daughter of the late Clarence W. and Edna E. (Ward) Bieber. She was married to Douglas E. McCollin for 39 years until his death on May 30, 1979.
Grace enjoyed being a homemaker in her home and was a volunteer with the Red Cross Bloodmobile for many years.
She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown, having served on the church council and the social ministry committee. She made several quilts and baby blankets over the years for the church's outreach ministries.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working in her flower beds around her home.
Grace is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Edna Mae and Thomas Aunkst, and Karen M. Schnure, all of rural Watsontown; four grandchildren, Christopher D. and wife Karen Schnure, Andrew A. and wife Elizabeth Schnure, Traci M. Aunkst, and Douglas B. Aunkst; one step-great-granddaughter, Maura Parks; and one niece, Valerie Mertz of Milton.
She was preceeded in death by one son-in-law, Daniel E. Schnure; two brothers, William L. and Raymond S. Bieber; and one nephew, William L. Bieber Jr.
A private burial will be held in Watsontown Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.C., 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville.
