George C. Zeiders, 87, of Dalmatia, passed away Friday, June 3, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born July 14, 1928, in Hickory Corners, a son of the late Percie M. and Fay M. (Shaffer) Zeiders. On March 11, 1950, in Herndon, he married the former Arlie J. Reed who survives.
George was a lifelong resident of the Dalmatia area and attended Lower Mahanoy School.
He was a farmer and truck driver for many years.
He attended Davids Community Bible Church Millersburg, and was a charter member of Hickory Corners Fire Company, a life member of Herndon Fire Company, a member of Pennsylvania Farm Bureau, and a former Lower Mahanoy Township Supervisor for 35 years.
George enjoyed refurbishing antique tractors.
In addition to his wife of 66 years, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Louise Zeiders, of Dalmatia; three grandchildren, William Zeiders and wife, Holly Wendt, Daniel Zeiders and wife, Amber, and Rachel Zeiders and companion, Ira Agans; two great grandchildren, Isobel and Elias Zeiders.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral at 11, at Davids Community Bible Church, 1072 Route 25, Millersburg, with the Rev. Allan Briggs officiating.
Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery, Hickory Corners.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in George's memory to Hickory Corners Fire Company, Hickory Road, Dalmatia, PA 17017
Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
