Florence Elizabeth "Flo" Houseknecht, 89, of Kramm Nursing Home, Watsontown, formerly of Rockwell Center, Milton, and 138 N. 12th St., Northumberland, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, May 16, 2017, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
A native of Northumberland County, she was born March 9, 1928, in Milton, a daughter of the late Russell Glen and Flora Loretta (Bower) Huhn. She was married to Roger Houseknecht who preceded her in death in August 2012 after 35 years of marriage.
Flo attended the Milton High School.
She retired as a supervisor at the Selinsgrove State School.
Flo was an avid bingo player, loved cooking and baking, doing crossword puzzles, bowling, crocheting and playing cards.
She is survived by four children, Rhonda Denius, of Apache Junction Ariz., Dorothy and Dale E. Dieffenderfer, of Watsontown, Michael and Barbara Denius, of Marysville, and Dennis Denius, of Newark, Ohio; five grandchildren, Norman Brown III, Christy Dreisbach, Thomas Denius, Michael Denius and Justin Denius; three great-grandchildren, Deavon Messinger, and twins, Ali and Sarah Brown, and a great-grandchild to be born in January.
Flo was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Everitt; and one brother, James Huhn in 1984
A private family funeral will be held at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Butch Woolsey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Montandon Cemetery.
