Evelyn M. "Skip" Miller, 88, of Comly Road, Turbotville, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017, at Aristacare at Loyalsock.
She was born Sept. 10, 1928, in Lewis Township, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late George and Hannah (Moser) Raup. She was married to Schuyler B. Miller on Aug. 30, 1947, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage until his death in January of 1998.
Evelyn was a 1945 graduate of Turbotville High School.
Earlier in life she was employed at the former Turbotville Silk Mill and then was a homemaker most of her married life.
She was a life-long member of Trinity United Church, Turbotville and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a former member and volunteer with the Turbotville Community Hall Corp. and had served as a clerk for the Lewis Township Board of Elections.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy M. Miller and her husband George Downey, of Evergreen, Colo., and Dr. Janice A. Miller and her husband Brian Cox, of Boulder, Colo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph S. and Donna Miller, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Rebecca Swan and her husband Adam, of Silver Spring, Md., Corben Cox and Arielle Miller, both of Boulder.
She was preceded in death by one son, James S. Miller in 2004; one brother, Marlin "Sonny" Raup; and one sister, RaOna Younkin.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Doug Schader officiating.
Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
