Eugene P. Brouse, 87, of Selinsgrove, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born April 21, 1930, in Reading, a son of the late Palmar and Alberta (Moyer) Brouse. On March 29, 1958, he married the former Barbara Hallden who survives.
Eugene was a 1948 graduate of Sunbury High School and a 1953 graduate of Susquehanna University. He was a member of the undefeated, untied 1951 Susquehanna University Crusader football team coached by Amos Alonzo Stagg Sr. and Amos Alonzo Staff, Jr. After college, he spent two years in the Army.
He was employed as a salesman for several paint companies and opened a paint and wallcoverings store until his retirement. He retired to spend time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Marlin Persing; one son, Scott Brouse; five grandchildren, Bryan, Steve, Abby, Lilly and Jordan; seven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Jake, Max, Paetynn, Jewellius, Scarlette, and Cainan; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Patricia Brouse; one sister, Ruth Kuhns; and several nieces and nephews.
At Eugene's request, there will be no services.

Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
