Dorothy E. Covany, 90, of Milton, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Manor Care North in Williamsport.
She was born Nov. 29, 1925, in Danville, a daughter of the late William and Maude (Mordan) Schick. She was married for 52 years to Norval Covany who preceded her in death in 1997.
Dorothy was a 1944 graduate of Danville High School and had played on the basketball team.
She was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Milton and the Order of Eastern Star.
She loved her family, gardening, animals, and baking.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Helen and William Phillips, of Milton; two grandchildren, Teresa Phillips and her companion Richard Walter, of Milton, and William Phillips Jr. and his wife Danielle, of Savanah, Ga.; seven great-grandchildren, Sage, Taen, Sephora, Larissa and Saqqara Phillips, and Peyton and Cheyyene Walter; and three sisters, Ruth Amacher, of Washingtonville, Alma Bieber, of Watsontown, and Alda Eichenlaub, of Muncy.
She was preceded in death by one brother, William "Billy" Schick; and three sisters, Helen Miller, Mary Frye, and Alice Harrison.
Friends and relatives will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 10:30, with the Rev. Dale Hippensteel officiating.
Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Milton
