Donald A. Mutschler Jr., 69, of Water Street, Dalmatia passed away Friday, July 8, 2016, in Lower Mahanoy Township.
He was born March 23, 1947, in Sunbury, a son of Jean M. (Sees) Mutschler, of Northumberland, and the late Donald A. Mutschler, Sr. In June 1986, he married the former Ethel I. Osman, who survives.
Donald attended Shikellamy Schools.
He was a very hard working man who retired as a butcher from George Farms. He was then employed by Shipman Van Service.
Donald loved the outdoors where he enjoyed camping, especially in Delaware when he would visit his son, hunting and tending his garden. His favorite times were spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Donald A. III, and Donna Mutschler, of Seaford, Del., Tony L. Mutschler, of Coal Township, Arthur W. Englehardt, of Dalmatia, Autumn M. Englehardt, of Shamokin, April J. and Steven Bohner, of Elizabethville, Alan L. "Butch" and Ashley Mutschler, of Shamokin, Dolly M. Mutschler and fiancé Brian Sites, of Coal Township, Alisca M. Mutschler, of Dalmatia, and Nicole L. and Jesse Wiest, of Lykens; his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Donna J. Flowers; and one brother Barry L. Mutschler and companion Sharon Pittiglio, all of Point Township.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Amanda S. Mutschler, in 1995; and two grandchildren, Parker and Justice.
Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Joseph W. Epler Funeral Home, 210 King St., Northumberland, where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
Contributions in Donald's memory may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
