Donald's Story

Donald J. Fagerty, 73, of Centre Hall, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017.
He was born Dec. 15, 1943, in Forest, a son of the late Andrew and Margaret (Petro) Fagerty.

Don attended the Cooper Township High School.
He spent most of his working career at the Nittany Lion Inn as a banquet manager, retiring in 1992 after 32 years of service. He was a talented wood worker and was employed at Woodcraft Industries after his retirement. He was a gifted carpenter and could fix anything. The last few years he was a driver for Joel Confer Toyota of State College. He enjoyed talking with all the people he transported.
He was a member of the Forest Baptist Church in Winburne, and a member of the Moose Lodge 18, Mifflinburg.
Don would lend a hand to anyone who asked. He loved to drive his tractor, mowing the community fields near his home, and plowing the neighborhood streets and driveways in the winter. He was very proud of his children and loved spending time with them and his grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Brian D. Fagerty and Karyn S. Debrasky and her husband, Philip, all of Zion, and Sarah D. Fagerty, of State College; four grandchildren, Jurnee, Amelia, Levi, and Wyatt; one brother and sister-in-law, Stanley and Cheryl Fagerty, of Dover, N.J.; and his sister in-law, Donna Fagerty, of Grassflat.
Don was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Fagerty.

A visitation with family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home Inc., 228 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Centre Hall. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Forest Baptist Church, Winburne, with Pastor Susan Radel officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
