Delroy E. Latsha, 79, of Dornsife, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at his home.
He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Greenbrier, a son of the late Vena (Snyder) and Earl Latsha. On July 12, 1958, he married the former Evelyn Rebuck and his passing breaks a marital union of 58 years.
Delroy was a 1954 graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School and served with the Air Force as an Airman 2nd Class. He served in Alaska before it was annexed as a state.
He retired from PPL as a serviceman and also farmed.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, and served on the council for a number of years, a member of the I.O.O.F Mahanoy Lodge 551, the American Legion Post 504, and the Herndon Senior Center.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and the Rev. Dr. Kerry Maurer, of Bloomsburg; one son, Troy Latsha, of Herndon; two granddaughters, Emily Higgins and Adrienne Maurer; two great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Carter Higgins; and one sister, Carol Jean Kaufman.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross, followed by the funeral at 11, with his son-in-law, the Rev. Dr. Kerry Maurer officiating. The Oddfellow Lodge will conduct their service at 10:50 a.m.
Interment will follow in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Cross.
