David C. Schleig, 62, of 160 Heintzelman Road, West Cameron Township, Shamokin, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016, at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy Illness of three years.
He was born Dec. 1, 1953, in Shamokin, a son of the late Clarence J. and Arline M. (Walborn) Schleig. On May 6, 1978, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, West Cameron, he married the former Virginia L. "Ginny" Heintzelman who survivors. He was a lifelong resident of West Cameron.
Dave was a 1971 graduate of Line Mountain High School.
He was employed as a custodian for Line Mountain School District.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, West Cameron, the West Cameron Nimrods and the East Cameron Fire Company.
Dave was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Heather L. Schleig, of Trevorton; one son, David D. Schleig and companion, Kayla E. Bulchie, of Trevorton; one grandson, Tyson D. Schleig; one sister, Judy S. Smink, of Coal Township; and one nephew, Ronald L. Smink Jr., and sons, Brian L. and Justin D. Smink, of Lewistown.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 11.
Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stoningotn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Dave's memory to VNA Health System Crossings Hospice, 21 W. Independence St., Shamokin, PA. 17872.
