Cheryl A. Reed, 61, of 210 South High Street, Selinsgrove, passed away peacefully at 2 p.m., June 1, 2016, at her home after a 40 year battle with multiple sclerosis.
She was born Dec. 26, 1954, in Batavia, N.Y., a daughter of the late Theodore V. Skotedis and Janet M. (Comstock) Skotedis, of Selinsgrove. On Oct. 29, 1978, she married Jeffrey W. Reed who survives.
Cheryl was a 1972 graduate of Shikellamy High School and a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs secretarial school in Manhattan, N.Y.
She was a secretary for several local businesses but mainly worked for the family business, Tedd's Landing in Shamokin Dam.
Cheryl was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Selinsgrove.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed photography, baking (especially chocolate chip cookies), sewing and often made her own clothes including winter clothes and her wedding gown.
In addition to her husband, Jeff, and her mother, Janet, Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Jessica M. Reed and her companion Derrick L. Raker, of Winfield, and Sarah E. Reed, of Bloomsburg; two grandchildren, Brecken L. Raker and Natalie E. Laughman; and one brother, Thomas G. Skotedis, of Shamokin Dam.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor T. Skotedis and Theodore J. "John" Skotedis.
Friends and family may visit from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 400 N. Market St., Selinsgrove where a celebration of life service will follow at 6, with her pastor, the Rev. Dietmar Plajer officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cheryl's honor to the Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter for Multiple Sclerosis, 1501 Reedsdale St., Suite 105, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
