Bonnie L. Kerstetter, 62, of Liverpool, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, from complications following surgery.
She was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Sunbury, a daughter of Helen (Conrad) Reitz and the late Charles Reitz. She was formerly married to Joseph Kerstetter of Liverpool.
Bonnie was a 1973 graduate of Shikellamy High School.
She was employed at Susquehanna University from 1979 to 2014 and retired after 40 years of service. She was a beloved part of Susquehanna and was well liked by the staff, students and her co-workers.
She attended Hall's Zion Lutheran Church, Port Trevorton.
Bonnie was a loving and caring person with many friends. She came from a large family and was known for her remarkable memory of dates of birthdays and anniversaries in the family. Although she never had children of her own, she regarded her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. She loved them and they loved her so much.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Helen and Wayne Smith, Cindy Morton, Debra Reger, William and Michelle Reitz, and Loretta and Billy Maynard; two nephews; three nieces; and her companion and ex-husband, Joseph Kerstetter and his siblings, Louella and Doug Boone, Ester and Howard Swartz, John and Florine Kerstetter, Jack and Edna Kerstetter, Charles and Darlene Kerstetter and all of their children.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Morton; her father-in-law, Elmer Kerstetter and her mother-in-law, Virginia Kerstetter.
A viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at United Lutheran Church, 167 Seven Points Road, Sunbury, where the funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday.
Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
