Blair A. Rhoades, 85, of Dalmatia, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Irish Valley, a son of the late Norman and Katherine (Miller) Rhoades. On July 28, 1951, in St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, he married the former Virginia M. Machesic who survives.
Blair was a longtime resident of the Dalmatia area. He was a 1949 graduate of Trevorton High School and served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He retired from Holsume Bakery in Sunbury.
He was a member of Zion Stone Valley Church, Hickory Corners, and sang in the church choir, a member of the Mandata American Legion, the Trevorton Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Dalmatia Kiwanis, the Dalmatia Fire Company, and the NRA.
Blair was an avid hunter and fisherman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Michael McLaughlin, of Shamokin; one grandson, Sean McLaughlin; and one sister, Lois Nunnamaker, of Florida.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia A. Rhoades; and two sisters, Phyllis Klock and Mary Barrett.
A visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Stone Valley Church, Hickory Corners, followed by a memorial service at 11, with the Rev. Curtis Zemencik officiating.
Burial will be in Stone Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Blair's memory to Zion Stone Valley Church Memorial Fund, 1899 Mountain Road, Dalmatia, PA 17017.
Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
