Betty's Story

Betty Jane "Peanut" Templin, 90, formerly of Milton, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg.
She was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Phillip Feaster and Maude (Thatcher) Feaster Van Horn. On July 5, 1947, she married Robert Templin who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2008.

Betty Jane was a 1946 graduate of Northumberland High School.
She was a homemaker for most of her life working briefly at Montgomery Mills and at Westinghouse.
She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Turbotville and was a member of various bowling leagues through the years, bowling mostly at Imperial Lanes and the Moose, both in Milton. For many years Betty Jane went to the national bowling tournament.
Betty Jane enjoyed going on vacation to the New Jersey beaches and going to the casinos with her friends. For many years she would take a walk in the morning, meeting her friends for coffee at the Tastee Freeze and later at McDonalds, both in Milton.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Steve Libby, of Lewisburg; one son, Richard Templin, of Mechanicsburg; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jamie and Sam Smith, of Mifflinburg, Nicole and Paul Blannard, of Mifflinburg, Kristen Templin, of Mechanicsburg, and Brett and Rebecca Templin, of Mechanicsburg; one brother, Bud Feaster, of Northumberland; and seven great-grandchildren, Madison Machmer, Cailynn Blannard, Kelsey Smith, Morgan Smith, Micah Lamb, Ellen Templin, and Jameson Templin.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Merrill Van Horn; and one sister, Frances Hendricks.

Friends and relatives will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 1, with Pastor Eric Reamer, lead pastor of the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren, officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Betty Jane's memory may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
