Betty Zimmerman Rowe, 89, of Mexico Road, Milton passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born in Lochiel, Union County, a daughter of the late Beaver C. and Suzanna (Emery) Zimmerman. She was married in 1946 to Jay E. Rowe who preceded her in death.
Betty graduated from Lewisburg High School in 1944 and was a graduate of the American Banking Institute. Betty worked in the banking industry for 30 years starting at the First National Bank of Milton and retiring from Wells Fargo in 1989. Earlier she worked nine years as an operator for the Bell Telephone Co., Milton and at the Ben Franklin Post Office in Washington, D.C.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Milton.
Betty enjoyed traveling and took yearly trips to Aruba. Most important to Betty was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jay E. Jr. and Lisha Rowe, of Mohnton; one sister, Mary "Polly" DeHart, of Milton; grandchildren, Coby Rowe, Kistin Smith, and Felicity Rowe; stepgrandchildren, Daniel Mohn and Robbie Smith; great-grandchildren, Garret Rowe, Aiden Smith, Kyra Smith, Quinn Smith, Anastazia Groth, Cooper Groth, Jimmy Rosario, and Samantha Rosario; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Christian and Lori Trate, Amy Woodcock, Andra "Bess" and Ronald Giles, and Eli and Kathy DeHart; and great-nieces and nephews, Aaron, Ian, Emma, Colin, Attie, William, Holland, Max, Paige and Hannah.
Friends and relatives will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev. John H. Shaw III officiating.
