Betty Jane Miller, 80, of Elizabethville, formerly of Harrisburg, a mother, Nanny, and friend to all, passed away peacefully at the Hershey Medical Center on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
She was born in Harrisburg, a daughter of the late Paul E. Sr. and Mary R. (Verbos) Miller.
Betty was a 1955 graduate of Catholic High School, now Bishop McDevitt, and a long-time parishioner of St. Catherine's-Laboure Parish, Harrisburg.
Betty loved to love on people. Nothing gave her more pleasure than serving the patrons of the Sportsman's Bar, The Eagle Hotel, Candlelight, Our Daily Bread, or the Waffle House.
She enjoyed playing bingo, singing along to Englebert and her favorite Christmas carols, reading, her collection of angels, and beach vacations with her family.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Mary Rose (Miller) Sweger and son-in-law, Daryl Sweger Jr.; and her grandchildren, Erik, Erin, Olivia, and Laura, with whom she took great pride.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Paul E. Miller Jr.
Please join us in a celebration at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Inc., Elizabethville. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Rosary Prayer services prior to the service.
