Barry Reigle Fasold, 88, of Sarasota, Fla., passed away peacefully at home with the help of Tidewell Hospice on June 9, 2016, with his immediate family.
Born and graduated high school in Sunbury, Pa., he was a local resident of Sarasota since 1958 and a member of the Elks.
Barry "Sweetie" and wife Betty "Bets" of 49 years self-started Barry's Trailers in Sarasota in July of 1968 while Barry was also in partnership with Precision Instruments. Barry's Trailer's is still family owned and operated by sons Barry Jr., Brad, and daughter Beth. In his passing, he still had his signature Barry's Trailers shirt on.
Barry was a devoted husband and father and is survived by his wife, Betty Kissner Fasold; children, Barry Jr. (Maryann) Fasold, Beth Fasold Sapp (Johnny) and Brad (Melanie) Fasold; grandchildren, Michele Brickley, Gina Beasley, Jeff Fasold, Erin Fasold, Jesse Sapp and Kaylee Sapp; brother, Bob Fasold; nephew, Cory (Diane) Fasold, of Sunbury; and other extended family and good friends who knew and loved him.
Barry was a Navy veteran who enlisted in the Navy in 1945 at the age of 18. He served in World War II and was stationed on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier as a Gunners Mate in the Northern Sea. He was recalled back to duty in 1950 during the Korean War where he served as an Instruments Man. For those close with Barry, that meant "BTO". Big Time Operator.
We can all hear his infectious, one-of-a-kind laugh now. Family, friends and customers know him as a jokester and teaser. He loved to give people a hard time. If he ever teased you in his friendly manner, then you knew you were liked. Sweetie and Bets enjoyed a wonderful life working together and traveling all over the world. As they would always say to one another "Sweetie, Now what?" "You will never walk alone Sweetie. That's what."....Love, Bets.
A private, in-home service was held by the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34238.
Arrangements are by All Veterans-All Families Funerals & Cremations.
