Arlene L. Snyder, 90, of Trevorton, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
She was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Washington Township, a daughter of the late Nathan Schwalm and Maudie (Klinger) Brosius. On June 26, 1943, she married John G. Snyder who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2003.
She was a 1943 graduate of Trevorton High School and lived most of her life in Trevorton.
Arlene was employed as a seamstress for David Knit Dress factory Northumberland.
She attended the First Baptist Church Trevorton and was a member of the Trevorton Senior Action Center.
Arlene enjoyed sewing and quilting.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Klinger, of Manchester; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Randy and Brenda Snyder, and David Snyder, both of Trevorton; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Marjorie O'neil, of Nashville, Tenn., and Deanna and Bob Kessler, of Fredericksburg, Va.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Nancy Brosius, of New Braunfels, Texas
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Tammy Carbaugh; and two brothers, Merlin and Junior Brosius.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at First Baptist Church, Ninth and Coal streets, Trevorton, with the Rev. David H. Troyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Arlene's memory to First Baptist Church, 510 S. Ninth St., Trevorton, PA 17881.
Funeral arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
