Anna Mae "Pose" Bowersox, 94, of Kreamer, passed away on Saturday afternoon, July 8, 2017, at the Manor at Penn Village, Selinsgrove.
She was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Middleburg, a daughtr of the late Clair and Ida Mae (Benner) Hackenberg. On Feb. 15, 1957, she married Roy E. Bowersox who preceded her in death on June 12, 1986.
Pose had attended the Erdley School.
Early in her life she had been employed at the Middleburg Silk Mill for 13 years.
She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Middleburg.
Pose enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking and canning, and her garden and flowers.
She is survived by one daughter, Ida Mae Richard, of Middleburg; one son, Ray E. Bowersox, of Freeburg; seven grandchildren, Amy Romanelli, Caleb, Nathan, and Issac Richard, Emily and Sara Embick, and Kevin Bowersox; two sisters, Mildred Pfleegor, of Washingtonville, and Julia Nerhood, of Middleburg; three brothers, John and Elsworth "Nick" Hackenberg, both of Middleburg, and Nevin Hackenberg, of Evendale.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy M. Embick on June 11, 2010; two sisters, Helen Zechman and Doretha Wieder; and three brothers, Robert, Lester and Donald Hackenberg.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First United Church of Christ, Route 522, Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 3, with the Rev. Alice Rauch officiating.
Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Pose's caregivers, Katie Jordan, Ilonna Speer, Chelsalyn Corcoran, Jarek Hauck, and Yvonne Lenhard, and the Hospice of Evangelical.Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
