Alma Ivon Tressler, 91, of 942 Edison Ave., Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at the Sunbury Community Hospital Health and Rehab Center.
She was born April 9, 1925, in Rush Township, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late Monroe and Lavina N. (Artley) Enterline. On Dec. 18, 1945, she married Lloyd R. Tressler with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage before his death on April 1, 2012.
Alma was a longtime member of the Stonington Baptist Church located at 2113 Hosta Road, Paxinos.
Alma was in the Foster Grandparent Program and a member of the Rebecca Club.
She enjoyed frequent visits from her family and everyone enjoyed her cooking and baked goods, especially her apple pie and macaroni and cheese. Alma also enjoyed traveling in the area with family members and going to local fairs, craft shows, farmers markets and restaurants. She enjoyed watching or listening to sports and attending family picnics as well.
She is survived by two sons, Raymond Tressler and companion Peggy Webber, of Shamokin, and Dean Tressler and his wife, Linda, of Sunbury; two daughters, Alma Bingaman and her husband, Lee, of Sunbury, and Arlene Shultz and husband, John, of Sunbury; eight grandchildren, Ashley Tressler, Lori Zimmerman, Gary Bingaman, Larry Bingaman, Michelle Fetterolf, Kayla Wertz, Dana Webber and Bobbie Aikey; and 14 great-grandchildren, Dawson, Cody, Michael, Katie, Kyanna, Dominic, Kaylin, Kayli, Doughie, Tabby, Tyler, Sean, Alivia and Gannon.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Brouse and Dorothy Kerstetter.
Friends and family will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Douglas Hallman Sr., officiating.
Interment will be in Lantz Church Cemetery, Sunbury.
