Albert "Ab" Taglieri Jr., 89, formerly of Trevorton, passed away Friday, Dec. 16, 2016, at the home of his son Albert Taglieri III in Spring Grove. He was a resident of Serenity Gardens in Kulpmont for the past year and a half.
He was born May 31, 1927, in Trevorton, a son of the late Albert and Catherine (Schwartz) Taglieri. On Sept. 18, 1954, in St. Patrick Church, Trevorton, he married the former June A. Jennis who preceded him in death on July 2, 2012.

Ab was a lifelong resident of Trevorton and attended Trevorton schools. He served in the Army during World War II.
Early in life he worked in the family coal company and later worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight. Ab and his wife June were the owners/operator of Penn Specialty Company, Trevorton for 50 years.
He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Trevorton and the Trevorton American Legion Post 92.
Ab enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, gardening, and was an avid Penn State fan. One of his proudest life achievements was being able to provide his children an education from the Pennsylvania State University.

He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanne and Michael Menko, of Trevorton; one son and daughter-in-law, Albert III and Trish Taglieri, of Spring Grove; seven grandchildren, Adam Menko and fiancé Lindsey Brown, Abby Menko, Michelle Menko, Jennifer Wright and husband Adam, Marybeth Taglieri, Albert Taglieri IV, and David Taglieri; three great-grandchildren, Alliana Wright, Aaron Wright, and Aria Wright; one sister, Matilda "Tilly" Ryan, of Trevorton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Charles and Jack Taglieri; and three sisters, Anna and Mable Bogetti, and Elaine Klinger.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10, at St. Patrick Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, with the Rev. Steven Frenier as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Trevorton.
