William B. Phillips, 60, of 145 Pawling Road, Lewisburg, passed away Friday evening, June 17, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
A native of Union County, he was born March 7, 1956, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Layman Phillips and Mary (Young) Phillips, of Watsontown. He was married to the former Sarah Pawling and would have celebrated their 16th anniversary on July 4.
Bill was a graduate of Warrior Run High School. After graduating, he worked at the Phillips Garage in Dewart until 2006. He then was a diesel mechanic for PennDOT until 2009.
Bill enjoyed working on and restoring old cars, trucks and motorcycles. He collected arrowheads and other Native American artifacts he found in the area.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by five children, Laymie and her husband, Josh Whitmyre, of Milton, Alexander Phillips, Billy Phillips, Grace Phillips and Isaac Phillips, all of Lewisburg; and two grandchildren, Liam and Abigail Whitmyre; one sister, Patti Phillips, of Muncy; and one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Bambi Phillips, of Dewart.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Layman Phillips.
Complete funeral services will be announced in a few days by the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg.
