William Floyd Hummer William "Bill" Floyd Hummer, 81, of Northumberland, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at The Manor at Penn Village.
He was born Sept. 26, 1937, in Danville, a son of the late Ella Hummer.

Bill proudly served in the Navy for four and a half years.
He worked as a guard at Grandview and Goldstar Nursing Homes, as well as TRW. He later retired from a lengthy career at Sunbury Textiles.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Danville, the Northumberland American Legion Post 44, and the Danville Moose.
Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and ride horses. He was a CB radio enthusiast, broadcasting as "Dick Tracy."

He is survived by one daughter, Vickie Vayda of Sunbury; one grandson, Stephen Vayda of Sunbury; and two nephews, Ronnie Derr of Bloomsburg and Royce Hummer.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Adra Hummer.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the First Baptist Church of Danville, 12 Brookside Drive, with the Rev. Dawes Dunham officiating. Friends are invited to visit from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be private and held at a later date.
