Virginia A. Flaig


Virginia A. Flaig, 77, of Harrisburg, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital.
She was born June 11, 1941 in Pomona, N.J., a daughter of the late William and Winifred (Kelly) Grunow.

Virginia was a volunteer with the Mahantongo Valley Ambulance Service and the Galloway Township (New Jersey) Ambulance Service. She was a volunteer with the Shikellamy School District Granny Program.
She was an avid antique bottle collector, enjoyed crocheting, knitting, bingo, and playing cards with her siblings.

Surviving are her son, Edward C. Hauck (Liz) of Dauphin; two daughters, Jennifer L. Larned-Taylor (Evan) of Egg Harbor, N.J., and Jo Ann Kada of Halifax; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; stepchildren and numerous stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by R. Donald Hauck; two brothers, William Grunow and Jack Grunow Sr.; three sisters, Gertrude Dammann, Bertha Hartwell and Sandee Dickerson.

A visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, followed by a memorial service at 1.
