Twain R. Smith, 91, of Trevorton, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
He was born Feb. 15, 1928, in Trevorton, a son of the late Francis W. and Beatrice (Miller) Smith. On March 25, 1948, he married the former Catherine "Tish" Fleming who preceded him in death on Sept. 12, 2009.

Twain was a lifelong resident of Trevorton and attended Trevorton High School.
He was self employed as a painter, a wallpaper hanger, and a carpenter.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Trevorton and attended Augustaville Wesleyan Church, Paxinos.
Twain enjoyed spending time with his family, playing pinochle, his cat Samantha, and was an avid fisherman.
He is survived by five sons, Reginald Smith and wife Betty of Trevorton, Bren Smith and wife Sung of Nevada, Kerry Smith and companion Cheryl Foulds, Glen Smith, and Carl Smith, all of Trevorton; three daughters, Lily Jean Craig of Bloomsburg, Kay Smith of Sunbury, and Carol Pickett of Trevorton; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law, Kenneth and Shirley Smith, and Larry Smith; and two sons-in-law, James Craig and Nathan H. Pickett.

A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, followed by the funeral at 11, with Pastor Greg Clendaniel officiating.

Burial will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Twain's memory to Augustaville Wesleyan Church, c/o Parking Lot Fund, 2556 Route 890, Paxinos, PA 17860, or to Sunbury Animal Hospital, c/o Safe Fund, 3920 State Route 890, Sunbury, PA 17801.

It is with sadness that the last of a generation has gone to rest with the Lord. I will always remember that he loved to fish. We will not be able to attend the funeral as I felll and am unable to travel
