Thomas H. Wright
He was born April 28, 1931, in Decatur Township, a son of the late Clayton E. and Jennie A. Erb Wright. On June 16, 1950, he married the former Anita J. Wagner, who preceded him in death on May 14, 2011.
Thomas went to Center School in Decatur Township.
Earlier in life he worked for Jack Hess General Contractors, Spigs Electric, and he retired from Hepco Construction in 1999.
In his early years he was a member of the Sand Springs Hunting Camp. Tom was a lifetime member of the Lawver's United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities, nearest to his heart was the Cemetery Association.
Tom was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed woodworking. He especially enjoyed crafting furniture and decorative keepsakes. Tom was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
The greatest joys of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Holidays were always a special time for the Wright family whenever they would gather at Tom and Anita's home to share laughs, food and reminisce.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Gregory and Sharon Wright, Jeffrey and Renee Wright and Nelson and Brenda Wright, all of McClure; five grandchildren, Laurie and her husband, Chad Treaster of Beavertown, Nicole and her husband James Brown III of York, Justin Wright and Lynanne Fegley of McClure, Brady and Amanda Wright of Middleburg, and Brittney and her husband Zebulon Weaver of Paxtonville; and great-grandchildren Gavin and Gannon Treaster, Brielle Brown, Chloie Asaad, Clayton Fegley, Jacob and Samuel Wright, Chase and Harper Wright, and Ace Weaver.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Paul Wright.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the Pheasant Funeral Home, 130 S. Zechman St., Beavertown and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 3, at Lawver's United Methodist Church where the funeral will follow at 11, with the Rev. Jim Jacobs officiating, assisted by the Rev. Kathy Mercado.
Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers. Should you desire, contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Lawver's Church Cemetery Association, c/o Pastor Jacobs, Box 188, McClure, PA. 17841.
