Thomas Wandishin, 63 of Junedale, joined his mother and father in eternal resting on Friday, Oct. 6, 2017. A loving father, grandfather, and community philanthropist; he could always be found helping those in need.
Thomas was born in 1954 to John and Theresa (Gelezinsky) Wandishin.
He graduated from West Hazleton Senior High School and held a bachelor's degree from Wilkes University.
A dedicated employee of the Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton's finance department, he could be seen volunteering for the Veteran's Committee or dressed as Santa around the holidays.
Anyone who knew Thomas knew that out of all his passions in life, the love he had for his children and grandchildren trumped them all.
Thomas is survived by his daughter, Rebecca and son-in-law, Christopher Scheller, of Milton; son ,John and daughter-in-law, Courtney Wandishin, of Richlands, N.C.; grandchildren, Nolan, Haylee, Kian, and Audrey; brother, Ronald Wandishin, of Junedale; and sister, Mary and brother-in-law, Bruce Hooper, of Weatherly.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Theresa Wandishin, and father, John Wandishin, both of Hazleton.
A public viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a celebration of life at 11, at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.
A private burial will be held at the family's convenience.
